The P*rn Conversation - Lilith Likes to Watch Documentary December

Image
Title: The P*rn Conversation Year: 2023 Starring:  Cybele Lesperance, KAy Garnellen, Lullabyebye, Misungui, Mya Lorenn, Petra Von Schatz Director: Anoushka Synopsis:  The porn conversation shares the behind the scenes of an orgy shoot. How do performers and directors discuss and agree upon what to show on camera? How are the performers’ limits detailed before the scene? How is consent part of every step in the process? Ensuring the consent of partners is sexy. This film shows us how it’s done in porn. - Via Pink Label Lilith's Notes: Enthusiastic consent is hot. Buy: Pink Label "We Want to Hear You Sing" Open communication is fun, sexy and healthy and I will hear no argument! So, the Porn Conversation is a quick fifteen minute lesbian orgy, with the briefest of discussions about who does and does not consent to what acts. And they they all fuck. I was expecting more, y’know, conversation. I was expecting some sort of round-table moment with all the performers discus...

Money Shot: The Pornhub Story - Lilith Likes to Watch Documentary December

Image
Title: Money Shot: The Pornhub Story Year: 2023 Starring: Noelle Perdue,   Wolf Hudson, Cherie Deville, Asa Akira Director: Suzanne Hillinger Synopsis:  Featuring interviews with performers, activists and past employees, this documentary offers a deep dive into the successes and scandals of Pornhub. - Via Letterboxd.com Lilith's Notes: I was there when the  OpEd dropped man. I was there . Buy: Netflix     "It's just because some executive at Mastercard has a fear of things in his butt?" I like to think that I practice care when selecting films for Documentary December. I don’t want to amplify voices that I vehemently disagree with, or that I find actively harmful. It’s why I’ll likely never review Hot Girls Wanted , which infantilizes the women, spreads narratives of coercion and takes away the autonomy of the cam girls. I was a little concerned that Money Shot would be nothing more than a puff piece for Pornhub when it began, but it does manage to delve in...

You Don't Nomi - Lilith Likes to Watch Documentary December

Image
Title: You Don't Nomi Year: 2019 Starring: David Schmander, April Kidwell, Adam Nayman Director: Jeffrey McHale Synopsis:  Released in 1995, Paul Verhoeven’s Showgirls was met by critics and audiences with near universal derision. You Don’t Nomi traces the film’s redemptive journey from notorious flop to cult classic, and maybe even masterpiece. - Via Letterboxd.com Lilith's Notes: I was so excited for this. Buy: Amazon   "There's just something that just screams bad." Every once and a while I feel a need to reiterate that I have no formal training in media at all. I haven’t taken a screenwriting course, or a film making course, or anything to do with media analysis or pop culture. I say this because I am fully aware that I am nothing more than a woman with an opinion on pornography. I don’t want anyone thinking I’m some sort of authority or a font of knowledge, unless they’re asking for recommendations on something to watch. And yet here stands You Don’t Nomi...

Image
Title: Pampering Our Sitter Year: 2023 Starring: Coco Lovelock, Seth Gamble, Penny Barber Director: Souxsie Q, Michael Vegas Synopsis: Chelsea arrives at a luxurious house, enviously admiring it while reflecting on how rough her life is right now, especially when it comes to the relationship she has with her parents. She then meets Lydia and Anthony, a married couple, who warmly invite her inside. They begin interviewing Chelsea, seemingly to be their new babysitter. Its soon revealed that they don't intend to have their own family -- they want HER to be their family! - Via Adult Empire Lilith's Notes: Let's explore a new kink! Buy: P ureTaboo | Adult Empire  | HotMovies "She's such a polite girl, isn't she?" Oh boy do I have a treat for you tonight folks! A film of middling quality to start, but as it continues the cracks really begin to show themselves and soon it's just a broken pile of rubble at our feet, twitching and whimpering and wonderi...

Elle - Lilith Likes to Watch

Image
Title: Elle Year:  2016 Starring:  Isabelle Huppert Director: Paul Verhoeven Synopsis:  When Michèle, the CEO of a gaming software company, is attacked in her home by an unknown assailant, she refuses to let it alter her precisely ordered life. She manages crises involving family, all the while becoming engaged in a game of cat and mouse with her stalker. - Via Letterboxd.com Lilith's Notes: It's Paul Verhoeven. There's no way this could fail right? Right? Buy: Amazon "I'm the boss here." Go watch the trailer for this movie. Go ahead. I’ll even link it to you for your convenience. Don’t worry, it’s safe for work. Watch it. I’ll wait. Back? Great. Doesn’t that trailer just scream slick rape revenge thriller? Well, too fucking bad because if you thought that than you, like me, have been deceived and are a victim of false advertising. This is not Verhoeven’s return to sultry thrillers like Basic Instinct . No. Instead this is apparently a satire. Of what, I...

Bliss and Nylon Double Feature - Lilith Likes to Watch

Image
Very rarely on Lilith Likes to Watch do I showcase a single performer. To my recollection I’ve only really done it once before with Owen Gray, though one could argue I’ve also done it for Angela White. Because, probably, a reviewer should do their best to remain relatively impartial and not play favourites. Counterpoint: A girl should know what she likes. Some years ago I watched, nay, slathered over the short horror porn Possession, starring Nat Portnoy. I can’t recall if it was my first exposure to her but it definitely cemented her in my memory. She was one to watch out for. Portnoy is 80 percent charisma, 15 percent physical performance and 5 percent hair flips. She is a presence. Since then my viewings of her films have been few but I’m always up for it, and happy when her work crosses my periphery. So, this week, Kage and I decided to do a Nat Portnoy double feature, and bring to the attention of you, the fellow pornoisseur a pair of pretty Portnoy scenes. Title:  Bliss Year:...

Where God Doesn't Look - Lilith Likes to Watch

Image
Title: Where God Doesn't Look Year: 2024 Starring: Tommy Pistol, Penelope Kay Director: Seth Gamble Synopsis: Belle approaches a priest and confesses that she's been feeling tempted by sexual desires, even though she knows she should save herself for marriage. The priest advises her to find strength through prayer and penance, but Belle asks about what to do if that's not enough. She begins to debate with him about the Church's obsession with virginity, and suggests that having sex in the 'other place' - the bottom - doesn't count. - Via Adult Time Lilith's Notes: Can you have too much of a good thing? Buy: Adult Time "Temptation is a part of life. It's what we do with those feelings that define our path." Do you remember when I mentioned my manifestation powers ? It seems there's an echo in here... Some time ago I made a public observation that I wanted Tommy Pistol to play a priest, and then, apparently, Ricky Greenwood caught my...
