It’s always bittersweet when something good has to come to an end, and sadly, we have arrived at the final Trick & Treat for this year. Is our send off a spooky, sexy surprise, or a tawdry, terrible torment?
Well…
Game of Spirits is a part of the Under the Bed anthology series, whose past offerings have run the gamut in entertainment, quality, and product satisfaction. We’ve seen one star, and we’ve seen five stars. Where, oh where, does Game of Spirits land?
Let’s find out.
We follow Lily(played by Lexi Lore) as she’s confronted by two step brothers, Cole and Ryan (Played by Parker Ambrose and Axel Haze). They ask her to come over to their house to help with studying and she agrees. As she walks away, we learn the guys are up to something nefarious.
Later, when Lily joins them at the house, they coax her into using a ouija board with them. As they touch the planchette, the shadows close in and our horny heroes quickly learn this is not a game.
A booming voiced demon compels them to take Lily’s virginity, or else!
A perfectly serviceable set up for a spooky porno, and Game of Spirits goes out of its way to bring forth some atmosphere. With a simple spotlight and shadow puppets, grasping claws close in on Lily, threatening to capture her soul unless she gives up her purity.
Then we’re treated to roughly 45 minutes of guy-on-girl-on-guy action, of girl between a step-brother sandwich, and while there’s nothing remarkable here, there’s also not much to critique, which is a good thing.
Throughout most of the scene, everyone is active, proactive, and interactive. There are very few instances where someone is left by the wayside. However, it’s not perfect. Axel Haze and Lexi Lore have much stronger chemistry than Lexi and Parker, and at times it seems the other two have forgotten that Parker is even in the room. Which, in a way I guess is actually kind of sweet. Is it okay to say I ship Ryan and Lily?
During the last third of the scene, the fatigue begins to show and I am not convinced of Lexi’s enjoyment. She sounds like she’s enjoying herself but her face says otherwise. She’s not super enthusiastic, but also not not enthusiastic. Imagine if one could deadpan enthusiasm. She is a contradiction. She contains multitudes.
Sometimes a porno is just a porno, even when it’s holiday themed. Sometimes you don’t need anything grand. Sometimes a little gumption, a flashlight, and three hot bodies are all you need to make something worthwhile. Sometimes all you want is to get off, and Game of Spirits just might take you there.
Highlight: Very good set up and the action came in a wide variety, no one was left out.
Lowlight: Maybe the demon could have spoke more or something?
