"For how long have you been a photographer?"
When I review an XConfession, I try to put myself in the position, mindset or tastes of the individual confessor. Sharing your fetishes and fantasies with someone is a very intimate, vulnerable place to be, nevermind broadcasting them in front of thousands of people.
So, when I watch an XConfession, the most important aspect to any of them is, does it fulfill the requests of the confessor and would it satisfy them.
The confession for Into the Flesh mainly revolves around wanting to see a woman sit on various objects, and expose her bushy self while doing the sitting.
I don’t think this hits it’s sitting quota.
At one point he is laying down and she sits on his cheek. He could have turned his head and turned it into face sitting, that would have fit the theme and been an appropriate transition from set up to sex. Instead, she ends up giving him a footjob.
Look, the confessor wanted cakefarts, not foot stuff.
And there’s a lot of foot stuff. Not that Nat Portnoy doesn’t have lovely feet, and lovely shoes around those feet, but feet are one of those hyper-specific fetishes that people usually love or are turned off by. It’s probably not the wisest idea to feature it in a porn where your entire script is “Hey, this is my fetish, please film it for me.”
Add to the fact that this piece is apparently inspired by a real human photographer John Kayser, it creeps into, I don’t know, what the fanfiction space would call “Real Person Fiction”? The short even begins with a disclaimer that they do not intend to insinuate Kayser had any kind of physical relationships with his models. For my own part, I did a very rudimentary Google of Kayser’s work. The images on screen are faithful recreations, if only in theme and spirit, so the director did her research.
On the positive, this short looks great. The wardrobe is good, I adore Nat Portnoy’s shoes. The setting and prop objects are regal and lush and for some reason I really, really fuck with the colour grading on this film. It’s all muted earth tones, almost sepia, like a faded photograph and it completely works for the set up.
Yes. If this was any other regular adult film that the director wanted to make, then it would have been aces, but in this specific instance, I don’t think it fulfilled the criteria.
But, hey, I learned about an artist named Kayser, and thus refined my artistic portfolio, and if having a font of knowledge about a certain subject or another isn’t turn on, then I don’t know what is.
Highlight: It’s always a treat to see Nat Portnoy, and the colours and style truly elevated the film
Lowlight: There was a lack of direction, in that the desire to see sitting should have been utilized more and transition into the physical activities.
LILITH'S SCORE: 3/5
Until next time, my voracious voyeurs. I’m Lilith, and I’m always watching.
