God Bless the inventor of the OVA, where little bite sized anime are thrust into the world, with a fully formed story, the very hint of characterization, and most importantly, I don’t have to spend hours of my time watching it. I instead grant thee an hour of my smutty, filthy time.

Princess Lover! OVA is part of the Princess Lover franchise, of which I know nothing. It started as a visual novel, then three light novels, then a 12 episode anime, and also an OVA. I’m unsure how dirty it all is, but the OVA delivers.

Our tale of lust and duty begins with Sylvia waking up in bed, and immediately remembering the night before, where she had sex for the first time with her betrothed, Teppei. She showers and Teppei finds her and fingers her to completion. After school, they fuck in a car that has the most leg room anyone has ever seen. Spacial permanence is not a thing in this non-euclidean car.

Teppei has also been receiving pleasure from his maid Yuu, and there’s a very fun moment in this sequence where, while Sylvia is going down on him, he imagines Yuu there as well, and the two ladies are licking and touching him. And then, Yuu fades away like mist because she was never there at all. I don’t know why it stuck in my head so well, but it did.

Sylvia admonishes him for wanting her to be lewd, for wanting to bind herself to him, and they continue to fuck.

We then flashback to the previous night and watch Sylvia’s first time with Teppei. All the while she’s chastising him for being shameless and lewd, but he hints that it’s not just lust and he’s not just fucking her to fuck her. But, that’s a plot thread that carries us toward episode 2.

After Sylvia finds Yuu pleasuring Teppei in his room, she finds him in the library and they fuck. Again, she is speaking about how this is embarrassing, dirty and shameless, whereas he tells her to pledge herself to him as a knight would. Just when she thinks it’s all so impossibly grotesque, little things, like the way she embraces his shoulders, or how he lifts her, speak of a growing affection between them until it culminates into a button-biting climax where Sylvia begs for Teppei to come with her.

That night, Teppei tells her to wear a pretty dress and they get close, they kiss, his way of telling her his intentions are pure, I suppose. She states, while stroking him, that she could pledge herself to him forever and he comes, which tells me, at least that Teppei has a romantic side.

As they fuck, Sylvia begs to be called a dirty woman, and in reply, Teppei tells her he loves her and I flail just a little because I am a sucker for this sort of content. Character development! Sylvia has to be on guard and proud all the time and with Teppei she can let go and be the sort of woman who is demure and fragile one instant, and dirty and begging the next. It’s all so cathartically intimate.

For reasons I will not spoil, Sylvia has to take a trip, but before that, they spend one more night together under the stars, and, to solidify their bond, they do anal. Aww. Personally, I don’t enjoy watching anal so thank god for mosiac censoring but this use of it felt earned, special. I think it was one of those rare times I wanted butt-stuff to happen.

For under an hour runtime, I found a lot here to love. The art is nice, if faintly Yu-Gi-oh! flavoured with sharp angles and harsh lines. The colours are bright, and the backgrounds are vast and detailed. The character designs are pleasing and cohesive and the animation is fluid. The plot is where this hentai shines and the sex scenes are rather varied and clever.

Watching the connection between the main couple grow and solidify was unique and worth the time. It was an entertaining journey that I hope you’ll venture some time.

Best Moment: A tie between when Teppei imagined both Sylvia and Yuu going down on him and the button-biting orgasm.

Worst Moment: It’s a little slow and confusing to start. I think maybe it might be better told linearly.
