Synopsis: A lonely, depressed morgue employee dutifully prepares the body of a young woman -- a Jane Doe -- and becomes inexplicably infatuated with her. "Why'd you leave me down there, Gabriel? I'm so cold and lonely."
Gabriel (played by Tommy Pistol) is a medical examiner/mortician who is just about to finish a twelve hour shift, when an unidentified body of a dead woman (played by Ashley Lane) is wheeled into his office. He is ordered to finish the autopsy and have the results by 3pm the following day.
Despite his exhaustion, he takes his job seriously and examines her body with relative respect and diligence.
By 4am, he starts to hallucinate that Jane Doe is talking to him.
Finally unable to take any more, he goes home where he hallucinates Jane Doe has come to his bed and they fuck.
I am aware that what I am about to say is going to sound really strange but let's be honest, you're on a site that is reviewing porn films, so either way, it's gonna get weird. Here goes:
Gabriel is a professional. He never saw Jane Doe as just an object, as something to use purely for his pleasure. He saw her as a pretty woman and a whole person. Given that, one would think that in his fantasy, Jane Doe would be cleaned up, and look like she may have in life. We even learn that her family is coming to identify her, so we can't even go with the justification of "You must be so lonely. I could love you, and you wouldn't be alone." or something like that.
Add to the fact that Gabriel is fantasizing about Jane Doe, and not actually doing anything to Jane Doe's corpse, that's probably a good thing. However, I feel like this isn't the kind of content that would satisfy people actively looking for this sort of thing. I don't think it's what they want.
This is me over analyzing necro-porn.
However, the sex is good. Tommy Pistol and Ashley Lane are great together, and they continuously deliver what viewers want and commit to the scene. If you’ve seen their Krampus movie The Bargain, which I adore, they commit to the bit as equally loyal as they did back then.
Lane deserves extra praise for behaving like a believably dead body. She’s staring into nothing, holding her breath, and not moving. She’s doing a very good job.
The makeup and costuming is great. Jane Doe is crusted with blood and mud, with leaves in her messy blonde hair and she’s appropriately pale.
Director Ricky Geenwood loves to bring the weird. This is the fourth dark and creepy creature feature he’s offered for our consumption and review and I hope he keeps them coming.
Finally, it doesn’t overstay its welcome. It’s an episode of Pure Taboo, and as such, is basically an hour, give or take. It does what it came here to do, then gets the fuck out. In a world where pornos can be 4 hour long epics, I appreciate a tight runtime.
The story is somewhat redeemed in the end but in a way that kind of feels like a bone is being thrown to the fetishists. Of which I am not one. I say as I have Necrophilia Variations and Dead Inside on my Kindle, waiting to be read.
What I can say, is that if this is your first venture into creepy, seasonal, Halloween porn, this might be a good soft intro. The set up lends itself to chilly, October spice but isn’t too gonzo or extreme, despite the subject matter.
Best Moment: The concept was great. Praise the concept.
Worst Moment: The execution. It's not bad, just sort of congruent with what it's going for.
LILITH'S SCORE: 3/5 - It's a Halloween treat, but it could have been sweeter.
Until next time, my voracious voyeurs. I’m Lilith, and I’m always watching.
