Lilith's Notes: The things I do for this blog...

"I can't believe you really made one of the prideful centaurs fall for you."

I have dreams. I have goals. There are aspirations that I long to achieve with this blog. There are certain stones that I need to touch. Touchstones, if you will. When one decides to dedicate themselves to critiquing a genre, and then a sub-genre of that genre, there are certain titles that must be studied, acknowledged, perhaps even revered or ridiculed.

I’ve rubbed up against some of them; Heavy Metal, Cool Devices, Spicy City, but there are others still that I am not yet mentally or emotionally prepared for either their politics or their sophomoric humour.

To escape my responsibilities, I run and hide in anime for need of something, anything to review.

Sometimes I think anime was a mistake.

A Beautiful Greed Nulu Nulu is a one episode hentai anime that features three stories. Yes, three. I don’t care what you say, the first two stories are one story. Don’t fight me, you won’t change my mind.

The first story is the tale of Rea, a centaur, and her human husband, Fumi. Together they work at a tavern and when the patrons go home, the happy couple fuck.

We get to watch an animated man fist an animated centaur. And it does that thing where we suddenly have x-ray vision so we see everything, even if it is through mosiacs.

Rea is absolutely lovingly rendered. Her hair, her chest, her horse-half. Muscles ripple under her flank. She has two adorable horsie ears on the top of her head. She has a very noticeable anus under her tail, which is, thankfully, or unfortunately, depending on what does or does not turn your crank, is never used.

The couple is loving, and the sex is enthusiastic, which is something I always admire, hentai or otherwise.

I don’t love Fumi’s design. His glasses and his look don’t communicate adventurer. Apparently he teleported to Rea’s world but I honestly don’t remember that plot point being mentioned.

The other two stories feature men abusing monster girls. Now, the less said about these two stories, the better, but I will say the design for the guy in the second story should have been used for Fumi. Fumi’s design is better suited to creepy abusive creeper who creeps and abuses.

This episode is an acquired taste and I didn’t much enjoy it. However, credit where it’s due, the design of the monster girl, who is a cecalia, or, an octopus girl, is kind of beautiful. It’s certainly imaginative and I love the colours and the patterns. It’s wasted on a hopeless victim of a character.

The third story, um, let's say it treds water. Again, the monster girl design is nice. It reminds me of one of those Zora from Legend of Zelda. But, it’s not a fun story for me, personally and once again, the less said, the better.

The colours and animation in A Beautiful Greed Nulu Nulu are its strong points. That’s my take-away watching this.

Being a monster lover is tricky. The entire realm of it is subject to some pretty troubling things that can be difficult to enjoy. Except for the tale of Rea and Fumi, this wasn’t the kind of monster smut I enjoy. I’m the kind of lady who wants her monster to cuddle with and who will promise to rip apart the world for her, whereas A Beautiful Greed Nulu Nulu just shows us that, surprise, man is the greatest monster of them all.

Best Moment: It looks good. It all looks really, really pretty. The character designers were dedicated, man.

Worst Moment: The absolute abuse the sea creature girl had to endure.

LILITH'S SCORE: 2/5

Until next time, my voracious voyeurs. I’m Lilith, and I’m always watching.
