"Smell the delicate dew on the leaves..."

Maybe I’m stretching the definition of monster fuckery with this movie but, what if we thought of it as... branching out?

Fantasy Hotel: The Gardener is a very short, simple, and sweet story about a woman (Played by Kaya Lin) who works hard for her charmed life. Every now and then she has to leave her quiet life and travel to the big city to sell plants and flowers. Each time, she books a room in a luxurious hotel and lets her mind and desires wander.

And wander it does, to an ethereal, otherworldly Eden where she is wrapped up in vines and ravished by two plant people under stylish bi-lighting. Would that we could all be so good in the garden.

There’s not much to say, because this scene is so short at only twelve minutes, but it’s enjoyable. It’s something to just sit back and let wash over you. It’s artful and slow but not dull or lazy. It’s dream-like and lovingly crafted.

The masks worn by the plant people (played by Allie Oops and Black Pipe) are meticulously detailed and communicate both flora and sex, even pollination. Though, I admit, I wish there was a little more to the forest suitors than just floral masks. More leafy greens perhaps?

Graceful, neon and electric, and unique, this verdant threesome would make anyone want to explore their gardens.

Highlight: The shots and energy was great.

Lowlight: More vine loving would have been nice, and even more to the costumes would have been appreciated.
