"What was her name again?"

In my mind, I have two distinct demographics who read my reviews. The first are people my age; born in the 80’s and have lived on this earth for some time.


The second are people who just turned 18 and stumbled across my site because they Googled “Who is Misty Beethoven?”


Today, for this review, I’m speaking to the people of my generation. If you grew up when I did you probably subsisted on a healthy dose of America’s Funniest Home Videos, or Candid Camera. You laughed, and got into arguments over the dinner table about which video deserved the cash reward. Then, mommy would smash a plate and daddy would hit her and you’d hide in your room without supper so you sneak out at 11pm on a school night to eat dry, stale cereal straight from the box.


Wow, this review got dark.


My point is, sometimes a peek behind the curtain isn’t a good thing. This is so expertly exemplified in The Wacky World of X-Rated Bloopers. At just over an hour, it’s a depressing foray into the behind the scenes of porn shoots.


This is going to be a short review, and unfortunately I’m not going to be able to point out who’s who because, aside from Ron Jeremy, I don’t know who any of these people are or what films they are shooting.


The film is narrated by a woman’s voice-over and she has the task of setting up the scene, and what was supposed to happen. Mostly the film consists of people flubbing their lines or arguing with one another. Hilarious.


There is one reoccurring blooper that features a blonde woman, a brunette woman, and a man on a pool table. They giggle and lose the plot and fuck around with billiard balls. But, no matter how funny they want me to think it is, it simply is not. The blonde is so degrading and mean. She mocks her partner’s dick, and mimes hitting him with the billiard balls, and is just generally laughingly cruel. You can tell the man is quickly getting fed up. The brunette woman can only laugh along.


In theory, documentaries should be educational or at least informative and this one is no different. It shows us, in detail, how they fake a cum-shot. And it’s gross and looks fake as fuck.

Eventually we’re treated to a truly depressing montage of guys being unable to get or stay hard.


The Wacky World of X-Rated Bloopers exists in a weird vacuum of cheap, amputated content devoid of context. Would it have been so hard to name the people on camera? Or what they were trying to film? It doesn’t even really make porn look like work, more like someone smashing two dolls together.


This entire excursion is marinated in cocaine energy and whisky dick. It’s not funny, it’s not cute, and it’s certainly not sexy. Ultimately, nothing matters and nothing is gained.


Excuse me while I go hide in my room and eat my dry cereal. Just like mom used to make.

Best Moment: There was exactly one moment when I laughed. A man kept fucking up his lines, and eventually they replaced him with another actor. When I saw a different guy enter the frame I laughed.


Worst Moment: Oh god, so many to choose from. I'm going to have to go with the fake cum-shot.
